This page explains what happens to personal information in connection with xardelun.com. It is written to meet the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and, where it applies, the equivalent provincial legislation.

Part one — the person answerable

Who that is

Nathan Boucher, in Canada, operates this site and is accountable for the information described below. Every privacy question goes to one address: [email protected].

Part two — what does and does not exist

Nothing is collected from you

There is no form on any page. No sign-up, no account, no newsletter box, no comment field. Reading this site does not require identifying yourself, and we have no mechanism to make you.

Two things exist anyway

Two things, both unavoidable for a site published on the internet.

• Web server logs. The hosting provider records an IP address, the browser user agent, the time of the request and the page requested. These exist to keep the site available and to investigate faults and abuse.
• Email you choose to send. If you write to the address above, your email address and the content of your message sit in our mailbox until the matter is closed.

Why they are kept

Both are handled for purposes a reasonable person would consider appropriate: keeping a public web page running, and replying to somebody who wrote first. We do not use either for marketing, profiling or resale.

For how long

Server logs are held for the hosting provider's retention window, which does not exceed six months. Correspondence is deleted once the matter is finished, and in any case within twelve months of the last message.

Nothing is measured and nothing is shared

There is no analytics package on this site, no advertising pixel and no social network tag. Every file a page loads comes from this domain. We do not sell, rent or trade information. The hosting provider processes server logs on our behalf under contract.

No commercial email

We do not send commercial electronic messages, so no consent under Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation is sought or held. If you write to us, the reply is a response to your own message and nothing else.

Once you leave for Google Play

The install links open Google Play, which has its own privacy practices. From the moment you click, the handling of your information is Google's and we have no visibility into it.

Part three — what you can require

Access, correction, deletion, complaint

You may ask what personal information we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, and ask for it to be deleted. Write to the address above; we answer within thirty days. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can bring the matter to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada. Residents of Quebec may also contact the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec.
